A county judge has approved the proposed $152 million sale of Moses Taylor Healthcare System in Scranton, Pa., to Community Health Systems, according to a Times Leader report.
The $152 million will settle outstanding liabilities of up to $127 million while continuing funding for a foundation focusing on Moses Taylor’s mission. Franklin, Tenn.-based CHS also agreed to invest $60 million over five years in the facility and technology upgrades when the transaction was proposed in July.
A spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office has said the AG has no objection to the pending transaction.
