USA Mitchell Cancer Institute, UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center to Enter Partnership

The University of South Alabama Mitchell Cancer Institute in Mobile has announced that it is entering into a consortium partnership with the University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center to achieve its long-standing goal of attaining designation as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute.

Leaders of both institutions stressed that while the cancer centers will collaborate as partners, they are not merging into a single entity. Partnership activities will include collaborations to advance and accelerate clinical, translational and basic cancer research.
