Irving, Texas-based Christus Health has been selected as the strategic partner for Titus Regional Medical Center, following a board vote to proceed with the sale of the independent hospital.

The board of managers at Mount Pleasant, Texas-based Titus Regional Medical Center, a 174-bed hospital, voted Feb. 2 to move forward with the transaction after what the organization described as a “deliberate, comprehensive evaluation” of its long-term options.

In a statement provided to Becker’s, Titus Regional said the decision reflects a focus on long-term sustainability, expanded access to specialty services and continued investment in high-quality care for the community.

Patty Boeckmann, CEO of Titus Regional, said the partnership aligns with both the organization’s mission and its responsibility to steward healthcare resources for the region.

“This partnership positions the organization to strengthen clinical programs, expand resources, and ensure the community continues to receive compassionate, high-quality care close to home for generations to come,” Ms. Boeckmann said.

She added that strategic partnerships are becoming increasingly important for independent and rural hospitals navigating today’s healthcare environment.

Christus Health said it was honored to be selected as Titus Regional’s partner and emphasized continuity of care as the process moves forward.

“We remain committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate health care every day,” Christus Health said in a statement provided to Becker’s. “Our top priority throughout this process is ensuring continuity of care and a seamless transition for patients, physicians and team members.”

Additional details about the transaction, including timing and regulatory approvals, were not disclosed.
