Children’s Hospital of Richmond Joins Virginia Health System

Children’s Hospital of Richmond (Va.) has officially joined Richmond-based VCU Health System, according to a report by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The private, non-profit children’s hospitals had tried for years to align itself with a larger system, according to the report. The deal will expand VCU’s children’s services, and 30 additional pediatric specialists are being recruited to join the system.

The hospital and the health system originally announced merger plans in March.
