The 12-acre property, located in Omaha, was put up for sale by Methodist in September. Children’s Hospital & Medical Center will utilize seven acres of the property. The remaining land was sold to NP Dodge Co, a real estate firm.
“[The purchase] is really to keep us in the center of Omaha for the rest of the century,” said Richard Azizkhan, MD, Children’s president and CEO told The World Herald.
The additional seven acres will increase Children’s footprint in Omaha to approximately 22 acres.
Hospital officials have yet to determine the property’s use, according to the report.
