CHI Franciscan Health, Virginia Mason and others form health network

Eight hospitals, 163 clinics, 24 ancillary provider locations and 2,875 primary and specialty physicians have formed a new health network — Puget Sound High-Value Network.

Some of the providers in the new network include: Tacoma, Wash.-based CHI Franciscan Health (formerly Franciscan Health System); Bellevue, Wash.-based Overlake Medical Center; Bothell, Wash.-based Lakeshore Clinic; and Seattle-based Virginia Mason Medical Center. The network will be managed by First Choice Health in Seattle.

Providers in the network will develop initiatives focused on coordinating patient care and improving quality of care while cutting healthcare costs. The network is available to self-insured employers with 50 or more employees.

"We've forged a network of industry-leading organizations and providers who — in addition to being among the most respected in our region — have committed to an approach that will allow us to reduce costs to employers, making it very competitive," said John Robinson, MD, CMO at First Choice Health.
