Under the terms of the agreement, Northside Hospital will donate $30,000 a year for five years to support the Safe Kids Cherokee Program and the Cherokee County Wellness Program and Health Fare. The safety program for kids will receive $25,000 a year for five years, while the wellness program will receive $5,000 a year during the same period of time.
The board of commissioners, in turn, agreed to name Northside Hospital the official hospital for the Cherokee government and its employees. Commissioners also agreed to provide the hospital with the right to advertise their relationship with the Cherokee nation in all promotional advertising and marketing materials. The board will retain the right of first refusal for future promotional marketing or sponsorship agreements the hospital may decide to engage in with any other county agency, according to the article.
