The struggling hospital announced March 4 that it has hired Juniper Advisory, and will be exploring partnership options, “to evaluate what will best enable us to continue to grow in the smartest way.”
Central Iowa Healthcare officials said the hospital faces some short-term financial difficulties. For instance, its new EMR system, installed last year, has caused problems with the hospital’s billing process.
Also, the hospital wants to complete a new inpatient facility on the same campus as its new outpatient facility that opened in August 2015.
Hospital officials said they want to explore whether a partner could help the hospital in areas such as physician recruitment, supply chain, support services and revenue cycle management.
