Advocate Health Care Looking to Expand Outside Chicago

Oakbrook, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care, which operates nine hospitals in the Chicago area, is looking to expand its services by partnering with BroMenn Healthcare System, based in Normal, Ill., according to a report by the Chicago Tribune.

Advocate extended a letter of intent with BroMenn, which it originally signed in Dec. 2008. An agreement between the hospitals is expected to be reached this summer, according to the report.

The partnership is intended to strengthen BroMenn’s commitment to its community and could include a merger or acquisition by Advocate, according to the report.
