The boards of commissioners of Skagit Regional and Cascade Valley approved a definitive affiliation agreement last November. The goals of the agreement are to retain and expand healthcare services, enhance access to care and implement a new EHR across the system.

Cascade Valley includes a 48-bed acute care hospital in Arlington, five associated clinics and a freestanding surgery center.

With the transaction complete, Skagit operates two hospitals and 18 clinics.
