California’s St. Joseph Health System Posts FY2010 Financial Report

St. Joseph Health System, based in Orange, Calif., has released its fiscal year 2010 report, which focuses on high patient volume and charity care, according to a health system news release.

During FY2010, St. Joseph saw more than 140,500 inpatient visits; 3,437,000 outpatient visits; and 564,900 emergency room outpatient visits. In addition, SJHS invested more than $260 million in Community Benefit, which includes traditional charity care, unpaid cost to state and local programs, community services for the poor and community services for the broader community.

The health system was also able to provide more than $2.2 million in grants to non-profit community service organizations, including $250,000 to help Haiti, Chile and the Philippines recover from natural disasters, according to the news release.
