Bon Secours St. Francis Health System buys 4 urgent care locations: 5 things to know

Greenville, S.C.-based Bon Secours St. Francis Health System has announced the acquisition of four AFC Doctors Express Urgent Care locations in Greenville County.

Here are five things to know about the deal.

1. An entity of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System will assume operational management of the four sites this fall. The four South Carolina sites are in Simpsonville, Greer, and Greenville.

2. The four urgent care centers will complement the walk-in convenience care clinic, Bon Secours Express Care in downtown Greenville, as well as an additional Bon Secours Urgent Care site opening later this summer on the St. Francis downtown hospital campus.

3. The AFC locations owned by Bon Secours St. Francis will be equipped and staffed to provide convenience and urgent care, minor emergency treatment and occupational medicine.

4. "These urgent care centers will allow us to continue to provide the high level of compassionate care that Bon Secours St. Francis is known for in a sustainable cost model," Mark Nantz, executive vice president/enterprise strategic initiatives for Bon Secours Health System, said in a news release. "We are responding to the voice of the customer; treatment at their convenience, expanded hours, quick visits and superior customer service."

5. The cost of the transaction was not disclosed.
