Effective Jan. 1, Billings Clinic will provide all management services at Wheatland Memorial, a 25-bed critical access hospital. Services include operations, accounting, financial planning, physician recruitment, strategic planning and budgeting, according to the report. Wheatland Memorial CEO Mike Zwicker will also become a Billings Clinic employee.

Wheatland Memorial chose Billings Clinic over St. Vincent Healthcare, also in Billings, due to its strong track record of helping out other rural providers.

Billings Clinic has now affiliated or signed management service agreements with 11 hospitals in Montana and Wyoming. Most recently, it signed an affiliation agreement with Glendive (Mont.) Medical Center. In May, Billings Clinic also created a joint venture with for-profit hospital operator RegionalCare Hospital Partners in Brentwood, Tenn.
