Trover Health began exclusive discussions with Baptist in November 2011, after also considering LifePoint Hospitals in Brentwood, Tenn., and Owensboro (Ky.) Medical Health System. According to the report, all three organizations were considered due to their ability to assist Trover with design and implementation of new models of care and payment reform; access to capital; and experience with recruiting physicians and building solid physician relationships. After an extensive evaluation process, Baptist was chosen.

Trover Health System will now be known as Baptist Health Madisonville, according to the report.
