Sumner Regional filed for bankruptcy in late April and announced its deal with LifePoint in early May.
In 2004, Sumner County sold the hospital to private owners for $10 million. The county objected to the LifePoint sale, arguing it still has assets in the hospital. The judge ruled the sale could go through, but the hospital could attempt to collect its assets after the sale, according to the report.
The deal must now be approved by the Tennessee Attorney General. It has already been cleared by the FTC, according to the report.
