The ruling is expected to allow Valley Health System, the hospital district that oversees the two facilities, to emerge from bankruptcy. The district had shut out Victorville-based Prime Healthcare from sale negotiations in favor of the doctors’ group, and Prime subsequently claimed the deal was plagued by conflicts of interest and an unwillingness to engage in a competitive bidding process, according to the report.
The sale terms require the doctors’ group to retain most of the hospitals’ employees and maintain services.
