SummitRidge is a freestanding behavioral hospital that provides mental health and substance abuse treatment services to adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.

After Gwinnett decided to divest the behavioral health facility, Avondale was engaged as by Gwinnett to identify potential buyers of the organization, develop a marketing process, contact potential buyers and negotiate the transaction on behalf of Gwinnett.

Avondale designed a process that balanced the value received by Gwinnett with a partner focused on the needs of the community; UHS was chosen because of its existing behavioral presence within the Atlanta market, strong operating history and commitment to provide a high standard of service to the community, according to a press release from Avondale.

Avondale’s work also included coordinating the other professionals required to close the transaction and helped navigate Gwinnett through the regulatory process and obtain the proper licensing approvals to transition the facility to UHS.
