According to the release, an affiliation with a larger healthcare system like Tenet would give Emanuel access to enhanced clinical integration; advanced information technology and operating systems; contracting relationships; capital resources; and nationwide programs, which would reduce the hospital’s cost of care and widen local residents’ access to healthcare services.
Tenet and Emanuel are conducting due diligence. No final agreements to partner have been reached. According to the release, no formal updates or announcements on the status of discussions are expected until November.
