The change in name is intended to reflect “stronger connections” the hospital is developing through its communities, and the hospital says it is unrelated to its exploration of a possible strategic affiliation with Rochester General Health System.
“Our local community is a critical part of the life of this hospital,” Scott Berlucchi, hospital president and CEO, said in the news release. “We want our name to reflect a sense of that ownership by the population we serve.”
