The healthcare system includes 124-bed Marion County Medical Center, nine physician offices and clinics and a nursing center. CHS currently also operates Carolinas Hospital System in nearby Florence, S.C., and four other hospitals throughout the states, according to the report.
As part of the agreement, CHS has committed capital to the health system and will assist in physician recruitment. Services offered at Marion will not change, according to the report.
The health system entered into a non-binding agreement with CHS in March.
