In January, ACH announced it was considering proposals from five health systems to partner or form an alliance. The board narrowed the list to five, including Asante Health and Providence Health & Services in Portland, which operates Providence Medford Medical Center.
According to the report, Asante Health’s commitment to maintain ACH as a viable hospital, its strength in the local market and its commitment to clinical excellence made it the best partner.
Asante Health System operates Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford and Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass, Ore., as well as Asante Physician Partners in Grants Pass.
ACH will consult with city leaders as it progresses in negotiations with Asante Health.
