Jim Gambill, chairman of Ashe Memorial Hospital’s board of trustees, told the Jefferson Post that contract negotiations are underway and it is likely that Novant will be Ashe Memorial Hospital’s new management company by next fall.
The hospital’s decision to consider Novant may sever a 31-year relationship with its current management company, Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health Resources, according to the report.
Mr. Gambill said Novant’s size, and its ability to bring specialists to Ashe County patients, made it Ashe Memorial Hospital’s best choice for a management company, according to the report.
