Under the deal, HealthSun will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anthem, and HealthSun’s associates will join Anthem’s government business division. Established in 2005, HealthSun covers more than 40,000 Medicare Advantage members in Florida’s Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The acquisition will bring Anthem’s affiliated Medicare and Medicaid plan population to 650,000 consumers in Florida.
HealthSun has a network of 19 wholly-owned primary care and specialty centers, and offers pharmacy and transportation support.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
