The project began last August and includes the addition of operating rooms and expands the size of the rooms to 1,100 square feet, which is needed to hold certain equipment for minimally invasive surgery, such as the DaVinci Robotic Surgical System. The expansion also adds more pre- and post-operative beds to the department.
The hospital held an open house on Saturday to reveal the new facilities to the public.
