The proposed affiliation has not been finalized and still requires sign-off from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board.

Advocate and Sherman announced plans to affiliate this past October. Sherman had considered more than a dozen partners before choosing Advocate.

Crystal Lake, Ill.-based Centegra Health System has been a vocal critic of the proposed merger, calling it a “land grab” that is mostly motivated by money instead of improvements to patient care, according to a Daily Herald report.
