Advocate, Rockford Memorial Will No Longer Merge

Chicago-based Advocate Health Care announced that it will not acquire Rockford (Ill.) Memorial Hospital, according to a report in The Chicago Tribune.

Advocate, which operates nine hospitals, and Rockford Memorial have agreed to let their letter of intent to explore a merger expire.

The two groups will continue to explore clinical alignments and shared services, according to the report.
