Since 2014, Bay Area Medical Center operated as a joint venture with Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care, which merged with Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care last year. The hospital is now part of Advocate Aurora Health and has been renamed Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area.
Under the agreement, Advocate Aurora Health, which has dual headquarters in Downers Grove and Milwaukee, contributed $25 million to establish a new foundation to support health and wellness programs at Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area and in local communities.
