Adventist – University Community Health Merger Official

Winter Park, Fla.-based Adventist Health System has officially merged with University Community Health in Tampa Bay, Fla., to form the Tampa Bay, Fla., region of the healthcare network, according to an Orlando Business Journal report.

The regional hospitals currently include University Community Hospital, University Community Hospital-Carrollwood, Pepin Heart Hospital & Dr. Kiran C. Patel Research Institute, the Long Term Acute Care Hospital at Connerton, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills and the upcoming Wesley Chapel Medical Center.

Adventist has committed $125 million in capital investment, $10 million to UCH’s foundation and has agreed to handle UCH’s debt and outstanding liabilities, according to the report.
