Adventist Health to take over 20th California hospital

Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health will take over management of Dameron Hospital in Stockton, Calif., on Jan. 1.

The management agreement ends Dameron Hospital's yearslong search for a partner. Executives and board members said the agreement with Adventist will help secure a viable future for the 202-bed hospital.

"With the many changes and challenges in healthcare, being connected to a system offers many advantages for a freestanding hospital like Dameron," Dameron Hospital President and CEO Lorraine Auerbach said in a news release.

Ms. Auerbach will step down as president and CEO Dec. 31. She'll be replaced by Daniel Wolcott, who also serves as president of Adventist Health Lodi (Calif.) Memorial.

Dameron Hospital will become the 20th California hospital Adventist operates. Adventist also operates two hospitals in Oregon and one in Hawaii.
