The New Hanover Board of Commissioners voted last summer to pursue the possible sale of New Hanover Regional Medical Center, and a request for proposals was issued in January. The following six organizations — a mix of nonprofit and for-profit health systems — submitted proposals:

  • Atrium Health (Charlotte, N.C)
  • Bon Secours Mercy Health (Cincinnati)
  • Duke Health (Durham, N.C)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.)
  • Novant Health (Winston-Salem, N.C.)
  • UNC Health (Chapel Hill, N.C.)

The NHRMC Partnership Advisory Group will review the proposals and ask clarifying questions. Once the proposals are finalized, they will be posted to NHRMCfuture.org for public review.
