That merger officially took effect Feb. 27, according to an Arizona Daily Star report.

1. The UA Medical Center-University Campus is renamed Banner-University Medical Center Tucson. The UA Medical Center-South Campus is renamed Banner-University Medical Center South.
2. Banner officials plan to upgrade and expand the hospital at 1501 N. Campbell Ave.
3. The merger makes Banner Health the largest private employer in the state.
