1. Athens, Ga.-based St. Mary’s Health Care System, part of Newtown Square, Pa.-based Catholic Health East, signed a letter of intent to acquire Saint Joseph’s East Georgia in Greensboro, Ga.
2. Industry sources said Underwood-Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, N.J. is close to signing an agreement to join Bridgeton, N.J.-based South Jersey Healthcare.
3. The Federal Trade Commission completed its review of the proposed merger of St. Peter’s Healthcare Services in Albany, N.Y., with Troy, N.Y.’s Northeast Health and Seton Health System, and did not challenge the transaction.
4. North Memorial Health Care in Robbinsdale, Minn., agreed to sell its 50 percent share in Plymouth, Minn.-based WestHealth to Minneapolis-based Allina Hospitals and Clinics. Allina will become sole owner through the sale.
5. Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, Wash., and Forks (Wash.) Community Hospital each approved a memorandum of intent to form a tertiary partnership with Seattle-based Swedish Medical Center.
6. White County Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Ind., merged with Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health.
7. Adams County Regional Medical Center in Seaman, Ohio, and Christ Hospital in Cincinnati renewed their affiliation agreement for five more years.
8. Milton (Mass.) Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston announced plans to merge in six months.
9. Pensacola, Fla.-based Baptist Healthcare announced it plans to turn over management of 55-bed Jay (Fla.) Hospital to Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates.
10. New York City-based Healthcare Management Partners will sign agreements to manage Allendale County Hospital in Fairfax, Barnwell County Hospital in Barnwell and Bamberg County Hospital in Bamberg, all in South Carolina.
11. Medina Regional Hospital in Hondo, Texas, finalized a management services agreement with San Antonio-based Methodist Healthcare System.
12. Fletcher Allen Executive Services, a subsidiary of Burlington, Vt.-based Fletcher Allen Health Care, will help oversee operations of Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga, N.Y.
13. St. Louis-based Ascension Health signed a letter of intent to acquire Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Alexian Brothers Health System, a two-hospital system.
14. The Eufaula, Ala., City Council President Jim Martin said the city is in negotiations to remain partnered with Dothan-based Southeast Alabama Medical Center in operating Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula, Ala.
15. Phillipsburg, N.J.-based Warren Healthcare plans to join Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Network.
16. The Hoboken Municipal Hospital Authority voted to make an asset purchase agreement that would sell Hoboken (N.J.) University Medical Center to HUMC Holdco, which has common ownership with Bayonne (N.J.) Medical Center.
17. Owensboro (Ky.) Medical Health System and Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Ky., opened Kosair Children’s Outpatient Center – Owensboro, as part of an affiliation for pediatric care.
