6. Charlotte, N.C.-based MedCath plans to file a proxy with the Securities and Exchange Commission to request stockholder approval to authorize the board to dissolve MedCath, sell its remaining assets without further approval and distribute available net proceeds to stockholders.
7. Albuquerque, N.M.-based Lovelace Health System signed a definitive agreement to purchase the assets and operations of Albuquerque’s 55-bed Heart Hospital of New Mexico from Charlotte, N.C.-based MedCath.
8. Charlotte, N.C.-based MedCath entered into a definitive agreement to sell its 70.3 percent ownership interest and management rights in Little Rock’s Arkansas Heart Hospital to AR-MED.
9. MedCath sold its ownership interest and management agreement in Coastal Carolina Heart to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C.
10. Fergus Falls, Minn.-based Lake Region Healthcare signed a letter of intent to acquire Elbow Lake, Minn.-based Prairie Ridge Hospital and Health Services.
11. Wells Fargo filed a limited objection to the proposed sale of Twin City Hospital in Dennison, Ohio, to Trinity Hospital Twin City, an affiliate of Sylvania, Ohio-based Franciscan Services Corp.
12. Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center said it is not considering any acquisition offers, but is developing a new strategic alignment process.
