Top 11 medical schools for pediatrics

Pediatricians undergo the same medical training regime as other physicians, including four years of medical school and three to eight years of internships and residencies, according to Education Portal. While each school has highly competitive admission requirements, some of those medical schools stand out for their pediatric training.

According to U.S. News & World Report's annual ranking of Best Medical Schools, the following 11 medical schools received the highest rankings for their pediatrics programs in 2014.

1. University of Pennsylvania-Perelman (Philadelphia)

2. Harvard University (Boston)

3. University of Cincinnati

4. John Hopkins University (Baltimore)

5. University of Washington (Seattle)

6. University of Colorado-Denver

7. University of Pittsburgh

8. University of California (San Francisco)

9. Baylor College of Medicine (Houston)

10. Stanford (Calif.) University

10. Washington University in St. Louis

U.S. News & World Report's top 10 schools offering the best pediatrics programs were determined by certain indicators that were standardized, weighted, and rescaled so that the top school received 100 and the other schools received a percentage of the top score. See more information here.
