The two organizations already have a 100-year partnership to integrate care delivery in the south central Wisconsin market. Currently, SSM Health Care and Dean jointly own an insurance company, Dean Health Plan, as well as a telemedicine operation and a pharmacy benefit company.

If approved by Dean’s physician shareholders, the Wisconsin insurance commissioner’s office and other regulators, the deal could be finalized this summer. Financial terms were not disclosed.
