Through the proposed alliance, RWJBarnabas and CHOP will have a greater opportunity to enhance pediatric care in the region. The affiliation will also improve recruitment efforts for pediatric subspecialists and align the clinical and research efforts of community physicians and faculty physicians from New Brunswick, N.J.-based Rutgers University.

“Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and RWJBarnabas Health are two prestigious healthcare providers whose philosophy of care focuses on the delivery of world-class clinical services as close to the patient’s home as possible,” said CHOP CEO Madeline Bell.

“Combining our three highly recognized children’s hospitals, pediatric rehabilitation hospital and outpatient pediatric services with the outstanding reputation for excellence of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will bring the very finest pediatric care to families in the entire region,” said RWJBarnabas Health President and CEO Barry H. Ostrowsky.
