The seminar teaches participants how to create a prevention and response plan in an active shooter situation before help arrives.

“We will be offering what the private citizen can do as well as what the plant owners can do to protect themselves and to provide aid to anyone that is injured,” said Lt. Chip Holland.

There is usually a five- to seven-minute delay before law enforcement can get on the scene of an active shooter situation, and knowing what to do during that time can help save lives, Mr. Holland added.
