North Country HealthCare to Develop Family Medicine Residency Program

North Country HealthCare, a publicly supported health center based in Flagstaff, Ariz., is developing a family medicine residency program, which will be the only community health center-owned residency in the state, according to an Arizona Daily Sun report.

The new program aims to reduce the primary care physician shortage developing in Arizona. The state is expected to be short 3,000 physicians over the next 15 years, according to the report.

No start date for the program was provided. However, it will be the only Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited program in the northern third of Arizona, according to the report.
