The ACO partnership with Methodist is the first for BlueCross in Tennessee.

Under the arrangement, Methodist will replace Memphis-based Baptist Memorial Healthcare System as the main provider in BlueCross’ Network S, which is designated as the lower-cost network.

BlueCross has designated Network S as one way to curb costs for members by providing a choice of physicians and facilities proven to deliver quality care at lower costs.

Baptist Memorial will continue as the Network S provider until Dec. 31.
