The three-physician internal medicine group decided to merge with the health system to expand its resources in “an increasingly challenging healthcare environment,” according to a statement made by one of the group’s physicians.

The physicians will remain on the medical staff of Keokuk Area Hospital. However, recent reports suggest Keokuk Area Hospital is in danger of closing, with only 10 days of cash on hand.
