Cooper Medical School dean takes job in Philadelphia

Paul Katz, MD, dean of Camden, N.J.-based Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, has accepted the position of president of Philadelphia-based University of the Sciences, according to NJ.com.

As Cooper Medical School’s founding dean, Dr. Katz led it through its accreditation process and various other challenges before welcoming the first class of students in 2009. He’ll officially depart on Aug. 6.

As of Aug. 7, Annette Reboli, MD, the medical school’s current vice dean, will serve as interim dean. Cooper Medical School will launch a nationwide search for a new dean in the fall.
