3 OB/GYN practices consolidate under Berkshire Health Systems

Pittsfield, Mass.-based Berkshire Health Systems announced last week three OB/GYN practices are partnering to form Berkshire OB/GYN of BMC: Berkshire OB/GYN Associates, based in Pittsfield and Lenox, Mass., Northern Berkshire OB/GYN and GYN Services of the Berkshires, both located in Adams, Mass.

Together, Berkshire OB/GYN of BMC will include 10 physicians and three certified nurse midwives.

The partnership follows the closure of North Adams Regional Hospital in 2014. Northern Berkshire OB/GYN was a former practice of the hospital until it closed, after which it became a Berkshire Health Systems practice.

The consolidation will help ensure access to maternal child health services in the community and ensure the practices’ stability in the changing reimbursement landscape, according to a statement.
