Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center has joined the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper and 13 other hospitals in the state to form the Wyoming Integrated Care Network, according to a Wyoming Business Report article.
John Lucas, MD, CEO of Cheyenne Regional, cited out-of-state competition as a factor in joining the integrated care network. “Wyoming hospitals cannot sit on the sidelines as their provider networks are challenged by larger out-of-state systems,” said Dr. Lucas in the report.
The partnership will position the hospitals for the development of accountable care organizations. The focus of the network in the first year is to speed investments in transforming primary care delivery through patient-centered medical homes, support interoperable health information technology and move towards value-based reimbursement.
