The facility will be rebranded the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital.
A spokesperson for the hospital said despite numerous changes to the facility’s name throughout its 125-year history, patients and residents continue to refer to it as the “children’s hospital.”
“Before becoming Women & Children’s of Buffalo, it was Children’s Hospital of Buffalo,” the spokesperson told The Buffalo News. “Even after that change, people still refer to it as Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. They still do, even to this day. So, it just made sense for it to be Oishei Children’s Hospital.”
Patients will see no change in the hospital’s services following the rebranding.
