The findings of the report are based on a survey of physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists that was conducted online from September to November 2012. The 590 respondents were self-selected.
Sixty-seven percent of respondents foresee risks and 35 percent cite shrinking reimbursement as the greatest risk within their profession.
Other risks reported by respondents included layoffs, diminished need for therapists, decreased compensation and burnout.
