Waterbury could lose up to $6 million by the end of the year. President and CEO Darlene Stromstad said the hospital cannot continue to absorb these losses and said announcing the layoffs was a “sad day” for the organization, according to the report.
The reduction includes 22 management positions along with educators, clerical and support staff and union and non-union employees. In total, Waterbury expects to save roughly $4.4 million through the layoffs.
