The legislation will instruct the state’s Health Care Authority to partner with insurers to offer plans on the Washington Health Benefit Exchange, guaranteeing coverage for any individual. The plan’s reimbursement rates will be similar to Medicare rates.
“Under the Obama administration and the Affordable Care Act, Washington was able to make tremendous progress in expanding coverage and start bringing down costs in our healthcare system. Under the Trump administration, all that progress is at risk,” Mr. Inslee said in a news release.
