According to the report, the hospital officials said that cutting expenses and other cost-saving measures, including cutting its staff by 676 people, have positioned the hospital to handle the current financial environment.
UI Hospitals is currently focusing on plans to build an outpatient clinic in Coralville, Iowa, according to the report. In November, officials had said that UI Hospitals needed to cut $17 million by the end of fiscal year 2010.
