UH recruited Peter Brumleve from Temple, Texas-based Scott & White Healthcare, where he was chief marketing officer and chief strategy officer. He was also the first director of marketing for Cleveland Clinic from 1994 to 1999.
Mr. Brumleve has helped organizations attract more patients through branding strategies, improve physician relationships and achieve revenue growth as a result. Consequently, UH officials have called Mr. Brumleve their “growth guy,” according to the report.
The system has been ramping up its strategy to better compete with the larger Cleveland Clinic for patients in northeast Ohio. It opened two new hospitals last year as part of a $1.2 billion expansion strategy.
