Todd J. Albert, MD. Surgeon-in-Chief and Medical Director of Hospital for Special Surgery (New York City). Dr. Albert is responsible for the clinical staff at HSS, which performs more than 30,000 surgical procedures each year. U.S. News & World Report named the hospital No. 1 in the nation for orthopedics for 2017-18. In addition to his leadership roles, Dr. Albert serves as a professor and chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery at New York City-based Weill Cornell Medical College. He has authored more than 40 book chapters and published more than 375 academic articles. He was previously chairman of the department of orthopedics and president of The Rothman Institute at Jefferson in Philadelphia.
